While Nilamani had dreams of tiny living, before the events of 2020 she was enjoying “normal” life in her home with an Airbnb on her property. But she lost her job and had to shut down the accommodation. She decided to sell the house and had a local tiny house builder create an incredible home that met all her needs.

She rents a lovely plot of land in New Zealand, where she enjoys meals out on her large covered porch and relaxes with yoga in her secondary loft. With the spacious design, she was able to keep much of her eclectic furniture and decor! Her unique sense of style really makes this house a home.

Mo and Pink have an off-grid homestead in Virginia, and the video below shows Mo’s hard work as he builds a guest cabin in their backwoods. Mo built the 120-square-foot house and the 12×20 deck over six months, right after his 60th birthday!

Remarkably, he did the build by himself using primarily hand tools — he hammered the entire floor together one nail at a time. Despite not being a professional builder by trade, his skills and attention to detail are apparent in the video below. He has plans to add a bathroom space in the future.

You might remember when these brothers and their dad built a truck camper for just $1,000! Well, they’re back at it, but this time they’ve built an entire off-grid cabin by a creek in the woods.

The cabin has a whole solar set-up, a clever pump that draws water from the creek, and a spacious loft bedroom with a full-sized bed. They even added a porch swing to the covered deck to finish off the space. Are you inspired?

Builder’s Blueprint is an awesome YouTube channel where this man DIYs all kinds of amazing things, including these mini campers for two homeless people in their area. But last month, he tackled something much bigger—a backyard gym tiny house!

The original plan was to use the space as a short-term rental, but since the city refused them, they pivoted and created a home gym complete with a massive Major Fitness Gym set-up. You can watch the entire process, from cement blocks to finishing touches, in the video below!

Caitlin isn’t the first person to say that van life has helped their mental health, and she won’t be the last! After a divorce, she left her vast, beautiful home and moved into a custom-built van conversion that met all her needs. She feels so much freedom in downsizing and minimizing her belongings.

But just because she’s gone tiny doesn’t mean she’s left behind comfort! Her van has a wet bathroom with an Airhead toilet, beautiful countertops, and a dishwasher, which she loves because it uses little water. Enjoy the tour of this stunning van below.
