Learn what you will need to design and build your own little house. Whether you want to build on a trailer or on a normal foundation.
The workshops are led by Jay Shafer, founder of Tumbleweed Tiny House Company, and an expert in tiny house design and construction.

Portland, Oregon September 17-18, 2011
New York, New York October 15-16, 2011

Hey Jay, Man your schedule is all messed up. Your wasting a lot of jet fuel and cash hop scotching back and forth across the US like this.

He’s also helping lots of people around the country build way more sustainable housing, and has inspired thousands. And the jets are going back and forth whether Jay flies in them or not. What’s your point, Phil??

Nothing close to Atlanta planned? What is the cost of the workshops, and how many people can attend?
[Reply]
Looks like nothing for Atlanta right now. Not sure if they already did it in that area earlier in the year. You can check the cost when you click over to their site because it depends on how many days you sign up for and how many people you go with.

What about Houston, Dallas, Austin, Galveston, Lubbock, Amarillo, Abilene, Orlando, New Orleans, Denver, Tulsa, OK city, etc. Get with it man, you’re missing out on a whole section of the country.

Thanks for pointing that out Tom. There was a workshop I went to in Boston, MA a few weeks ago. Some of the cities you mentioned were done by Tumbleweed earlier this year (I’ve just removed them because they’re over now).

I just came across this website and was reading the responses. Alex I think what Phil is trying to say is that Jay is all over the map but in no specific order. Had he started in NY and worked his way back to California would have made more sense. However, he has to come from California all the way across the map to get to New York even if he was to work his way back to California. I am quite sure his schedule also depends on the availability of the facilities he is able to get to have the workshops, so either way he is going to burn some fuel to spread his message on tinyhouses. I think he is doing a wonderful job.
