Video: How to Find a Lot to Park and Live in Your Tiny House

This post contains affiliate links.

A while back I published a post on tips and tricks on how to find parking for your tiny house. Today I thought it was time to update it, so I put together a quick video to show you some ideas and tips on how to find a lot to park and live in your current or future tiny house.

The ideas are really simple but if you’ve never thought of them before this will be really helpful for you. So here they are:

  • Wanted ads using your local Craigslist
  • Classified ads in your local newspaper
  • Inquiring with RV parks in your area
  • Asking friends and family for possible backyards
  • Purchasing or leasing rural land

For more tips, including an example of a Craigslist/Newspaper ad you can “swipe” watch the video below:

Thank you, Alex, for a really informative video! I plan to build a Tumbleweed house and was wondering how and where I could put it once it was built. You gave me some valuable information, things that I hadn’t even thought of (like leasing some rural land). I really appreciate it and I love Tiny House Talk! I get your postings via Facebook.

Essential information for anyone building a tiny house! The sample AD was great…good way to explain it to someone not familiar with this mobile house. Thanks!

Excellent! Advertising myself is how I originally found my land fifteen years ago. It cuts through all the red tape.

Thanks much for the information Alex. I never would had thought of looking to lease a small area maybe from a farmer or also place a craigslist small ad for FREE! Thanks so much!
